My name is Rowland. I’ve worked professionally with Microsoft Windows for over 20 years and hold Microsoft Certifications in systems, development, application and database products.

Microsoft™ Windows is the most widely used desktop operating system on the planet and it changed the personal computer for ever back in the late eighties. It made computing accessible and easy for everyone. No other operating system has had such a profound impact to our lives.

Although Windows is generally a great product for most people, it can suffer from a number of problems. One of those problems is that it can slow down over time. As an example, my Dell laptop, which used to be lightning fast running Windows XP, currently takes more than 20 minutes to boot up to a point where I am able to launch Outlook to pick up emails.

I’ve created this web site as a community resource for us to talk about the many issues around Windows performance. My aim is to provide an honest and open forum for us all to talk about Windows slow downs and look at some of the ways of speeding it up again!
