Question by Syed Muhammad: How can I uninstall “personal antivirus”. Can any one tell me step by step procedure?
Mistakenly I installed a file/software/spy “personal antivirus” from the net. Adobe flash and Java Virtual Machine have been uninstalled or blocked. I don’t know whether due to this or not. I can not watch youtube clips and Internet TV Channels since then. Please tell me any free software and step by step procedure to uninstall this without formatting hard disk.

Please follow my instructions to uninstall Personal Antivirus
1.Open My computer, choose Disk C:
2.Find the folder Program Files\Common Files\Uninstal\PAV (or) Personal AV\Uninstall.exe.
3.Run the file Uninstall.exe
4.Find this file C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxmlm.dll and delete it.
If you can not find that file, search for the file named netfilter.exe within c:\Windows.
OR
Please do the following.
Open up My computer, go to your local disk, C drive or the drive that windows is installed on. Go to Program Files and look for the folder named ‘PAV’. Once found, right click on the folder and select properties. De-select read only, so that read only is not selected. Apply the change, say yes to folders and subfolders and press OK.
Now press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and go to the Processes tab and look for PAV in the file name category! Once found, end that process.
Please make sure, that PAV is not running at all! Check in your system tray also, if it is running there(system tray’s locations is next to your system time, where all the icons are)
Once all of the above are done, please go ahead and delete the folder named PAV in program files, the start menu entry that was made and Empty the recycle bin.

try use this instruction:

Run its uninstaller, or if that doesnt work, delete the folder for it in the Program files folder, then get AVG and Malwarebytes, then do a full scan with Malwarebytes, if it says to restart, restart. Then AVG should keep any other missed files away.
check this free removal tool : http://www.thestubware.com/story/personalantivirus.php
you will have to go through the registry of your computer and remove every single little file that snuck into your computer. download spyhunter and do a scan with that and it will tell you where each file is and then you go to your start menu, run and type in regedit and thats the registry. there is a part where you can type in the file and it will look for you in most cases and find the files. delete them and then empty the recyling bin.. i did this to my sisters computer the other day and it worked. just keep scanning the computer with spy hunter to make sure the files have been deleted. if you cant find them by having the computer search you will have to do it manually, which i also did. a pain in the but, yes but it made sure that they were gone.. good luck… plus dont do anything that program tells you too. and dont put any password anywhere, theres a worm that comes with that program that may steal them.. good luck. if you need anymore help with it im me cuz i remember exactly what i did. lildulworthmama
